Deborah S. Bosley, Ph.D. - Founder and Principal
Deborah knows that clear communication is good for business and good for customers: a true win-win. She provides clients, customers, and the public with content that is easy to understand and use while also meeting regulatory requirements for plain language. Clear communication increases efficiency, is more effective, and engages customers.
Because of her dedication to providing her clients with clear content, she has been the recipient of several awards and shared a ClearMark Award for work she did with JPMorgan Chase.
TPLG’s clients include Fortune 100/500 companies as well as higher education and government agencies. Her training and speaking evaluations are outstanding, her expert witness testimony helped clients win their cases, and she is easy to work with.
Deborah is a sought-after speaker for corporate events, governmental conferences, and association meetings. She talks about how plain language impacts the bottom line, engages consumers, and can protect corporations from lawsuits. She also focuses on how plain language disclosures help companies and agencies serve the public good while amplifying their brand.
She is on the board of the Institute for Fiduciary Standards in Washington, D.C., is a board member of the Center for Plain Language, and spent three years as Chair of the Plain Language Association International.
Deborah has a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition and was a tenured professor of Technical and Professional Writing at UNC Charlotte. In her spare time, she loves to travel, view art and architecture, eat great food, and maintain a sense of humor.
